"AL-BUSTAN",
Arabic for "The Garden", strives to promote mutual understanding
and respect amongst its participants of various ethnic, religious,
and socio-economic backgrounds, while exposing them to the Arabic
language, natural environment, and visual, performing, and multi-media
arts.
At AL-BUSTAN CAMP, children and youth appreciate Arabic culture
while developing new language skills. Knowledge of Arabic is not
required, but participants must be interested in learning the
language. During daily Arabic instruction, participants speak,
sing, read, and write Arabic in a fun and engaging way. Since
understanding of the culture is a critical part of learning another
language, immersion in cultural activities is an integral part
of the camp experience.
