Al-Bustan Legacy Projects

A public art installation produced by Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture featuring the work of artist Wendy Ewald in collaboration with eighteen Northeast High School students exploring their immigrant experiences.

(DIS)PLACED: Philadelphia is an initiative of Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture exploring the theme of displacement across Philadelphia’s diverse communities and from the perspectives of four artists-in-residence of Arab heritage.

Al-Bustan presents a multimedia project inspired by Andalusian poetry with a series of events and newly commissioned works bridging the traditions of East and West.

We are pleased to announce the CD release of “NUR: A Musical Journey in Sufi Poetry” featuring vocalist DALAL ABU AMNEH, composer KINAN ABOU-AFACH, and AL-BUSTAN TAKHT: Kinan Abou-afach on cello/oud, Hafez Kotain on tar frame drum, and Hanna Khoury on violin/viola.

This Arabic alphabet learning tool and game is designed around the theme of Ziryab and Andalusia, and the collective alphabet created by children at Al-Bustan Camp in 2007.
