Reporting to the Education Manager, the Education Coordinator is the organization's primary on-the-ground presence in Philadelphia schools — attending programs, supporting teaching artists, coordinating logistics, and ensuring that students and school partners experience Al-Bustan's work with care and consistency. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with a genuine passion for Arab arts and culture, a strong work ethic, and the organizational skills and interpersonal warmth to represent Al-Bustan well in school and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
*Program Support & School Presence
Attend in-school arts education programs alongside teaching artists, providing logistical and administrative support to ensure smooth program delivery.
Transport and deliver program supplies, materials, and equipment to school sites as needed.
Serve as a consistent, welcoming Al-Bustan presence for students, teachers, and school administrators.
Assist with setup and breakdown of program activities, events, and showcases.
Observe programs and report back to the Education Manager on program quality, teaching artist needs, and school partner feedback.
*Coordination & Administration
Support the Education Manager in scheduling, communications, and day-to-day coordination across multiple school partners and teaching artists.
Maintain organized program records, including attendance, materials inventories, and program documentation.
Assist with data collection and program evaluation, including participant feedback and attendance tracking.
Support the coordination of education-related events, including student showcases, family engagement evenings, and educator workshops.
Assist with communications to schools, families, and teaching artists as directed by the Education Manager.
*Teaching Artist & School Partnership Support
Build positive, trusted relationships with teaching artists and school staff through regular, reliable presence.
Serve as a point of contact for logistical needs and questions between school visits and program sessions.
Help onboard new school partners to Al-Bustan's programs and expectations.
Support the Education Manager in maintaining school partnership documentation including MOUs and program schedules.
*Additional Responsibilities
Assist with organizational events and public programming as needed.
Support the Education Manager with online Arabic language classes for children and adults as needed.
Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team culture within Al-Bustan.
Other duties as assigned by the Education Manager.
