This exhibition brings together the beautiful artwork of Meryem Osmanlioglu and Ayse Tunc, showcasing Arabic calligraphy and Islamic illumination, creating a unified visual language rooted in devotion, discipline, and tradition. While distinct in form, calligraphy and illumination are closely linked—one giving voice to the Divine Word, the other surrounding it with rhythm, balance, and light.
The artworks on display are crafted using classical techniques and natural materials passed down through generations, including hand-cut reed pens, gold leaf, handmade papers, and traditional pigments. Drawing from Qur’anic verses, sacred texts, and the intricate patterns of geometric and floral designs, the artists honor established traditions while also infusing their own contemporary touch.
